Einstein’s General Relativity

Albert Einstein’s General Relativity is one of the most important theories in the history of physics. Published in 1915, it transformed our understanding of gravity by showing that it is not simply a force pulling objects together, but the result of mass and energy bending the fabric of spacetime. In this view, planets orbit stars not because they are being pulled in a straight line, but because they are following curved paths through warped spacetime.

General Relativity opened the door to some of the strangest and most powerful ideas in modern science, including black holes, gravitational waves, time dilation near massive objects, and the bending of light by gravity. It also plays a major role in understanding the structure and expansion of the universe. More than a century later, Einstein’s theory remains one of the most tested and successful explanations of reality, revealing a cosmos where space, time, matter, and gravity are deeply connected.
