Discovering the framework of reality

Is there an edge to the universe?

It is an accepted notion that the universe started from a singularity that exploded around 13.7 billion years ago. However, because we are limited to seeing with light which travels at a finite speed, we are not able to see or detect the edge of the universe as stars did not light up till some time after the Big Bang.

This leads to some interesting ideas such as an eternal universe or a universe much bigger than what we can detect. But could we ever find out one way or another? Does the universe have a shape? Does it have edges and can we detect those edges? If we travelled far enough, would we find the edge or could we end up back where we started?

Find out what could lie beyond the universe in this interesting video narrated by Morgan Freeman.
